Agent 4TY7 Releases “Hitman 1” Album

“This album is a celebration of Kenyan hip-hop,I'm grateful for the opportunity to have worked with so many talented artists and producers on this project”

Agent 4TY7

AGENT 4TY7's debut album, “Hitman 1,” dropped on 15th February 2024 and is a 13-track project, an indication of the vibrant collaborative spirit within the Kenyan underground hip-hop community. The album showcases AGENT 4TY7's musical artistry alongside a talented roster of featured artists and producers. As coincidental as they come, I was watching the film “Agent 47” when the album dropped, and the project immediately stood out.The tracks explore themes of contemporary life and personal experience, while chemistry between the artists sets the stage for the diverse sonic voyage that follows.

From the opening tracks "Siku Hizi" (These Days) and "Ghetto Made Me," both featuring 768 Jakom and producer Willy, this body of work establishes a dynamic theatrical stage, making Hitman more than just a collection of songs; it's a conversation. A collection of fairly unknown artists in the game who have put in the work via grit and raw talent. There is just a tingling feeling that with better resources and workmanship, there is fossil fuel in here. What is that famous quote by FX traders? Buy at the dip.

Tracks like "Usilete Mafeelings" (Don't Bring Feelings) featuring Nax Luchi (Prod. Columbia) and "Dance 4 Me" featuring Don Kid Roma and YBN Mugo (Prod. Vinnygotthevibes) demonstrate a laid-back, relaxing mood to rap. Motivational anthems like "Just Do It" featuring Don Kid Roma (Prod. Yung Blake) and "Yes You Can" featuring Nax Luchi (Prod. Willy) talk about the need to always chase your goals and whatever madness you want to pursue. As rhetoric and as much as I have said it a million times, follow your dreams.

Hitman shines a spotlight on the depth of talent within the Kenyan hip-hop scene, particularly the new crop of young hip-hop connoisseurs. YBN Mugo's multiple appearances, including on "At a Distance" (Prod. Sxrgical) and the West Coast-influenced "G Funk" (Prod. Yung Blake), underscore the versatility of this body of work while maintaining it’s core. The "Freestyle" track, featuring Don Kid Roma, YBN Mugo, and Kibeezy (Prod. Sxrgical), is a showcase of lyrical synergy, highlighting the artists' individual skills while creating something greater than the sum of its parts. For a debut album, this tape is a good entry point for Agent4TY7 into bulk music production.

Hitman is a testament to the power of collaboration and the vibrant community that we are striving to create here in the Kenyan music industry. The tape is available on all digital streaming platforms.
