Ares66
There are many ways to describe Ares, and 66 is not even enough.
You have heard of Kanye West, but have you met Kenya East? A producer first but a rapper first also, the only producer in Kenya to release back to back albums every six months.
Kenyan born, Nairobi-based producer Ares66 is the master of Kenya’s Hip Hop street-oriented sound that is sufficiently reflected in his work. On a run of half-decade of success working with the likes of Wakadinali, Dyana Cods, Skillo, and Katapilla -- with “Chunga”, "Hizi Stance", "Team Kumallo "Riswa 1, 2 & 3”, and "Top Scorer" among his biggest hits -- Ares66 is a marquee name in the Kenyan Music Industry.
When you hear Ares rapping, all you can say is "nyoko pieko"!
With rhymes that depict the life and experience of Eastlands, the producer whose studio "BIG BEATZ AFRICA" is based in Umoja’s music resonates well with his audience and peers, with lyrical prowess that supersedes the usual talents you’re used to, his ability to hug a beat and make it all about himself sets him up to be who exactly he knows he is.
His first solo EP is titled Black Milk, which for the time foreshadowed how he would shape the Kenyan Music Industry, with features from known heavyweights such as Scar Mkadinali on Bora Tu Zishike and Domani Munga. He added another gem to his infinity gauntlet with Gangsta Points (2023), his first solo album, with stand out records such as TeamKumallo with Wakadinali, Manos with Buruklyn Boyz but also reminds you that he can hold his own with tracks such as Conflict, Leo & Hatulali."
Ares66 quickly turned around and gave us the Time is Not on My Side EP. His work rate attests to this as if he knows something we don’t. Loyalty with Dyana Cods, Mapakee, & Me Ni G, tells you what you need to know about Ares66.
What next for Ares66? Only he knows.
